About J. Colleen Boutique

J. Colleen Boutique, proud to have been voted Best of the East Bay 2014 by Diablo Magazine, is an upscale women's clothing, jewelry, and gift boutique that will open in September of 2013. We are a special blend of the posh, chic shopping experience of Barneys New York with the treasures of high-end designer consignment. Many of our products will be made from materials found locally and/or sourced from other conscious artists. We will also be offering vintage designer wear.

Local artists, as well as artisans from around the world, will make many of the products that we will be carrying at J. Colleen Boutique. Gift items such as jewelry, upscale vintage-ware, photography, and original artwork will be showcased once a month in a private reception for the artist, their family, and friends. As there are no other shops or boutiques in Lafayette with such an array of artisans, we see a perfect opening to introduce this style of visual and mercantile experience.

Clothing for Stylish Women

J. Colleen Boutique will operate an upscale consignment program, accepting ready-to-wear, designer, and casual/contemporary apparel and accessories for women. Divinity Jewelry by Michelle Mirkovich will be sold exclusively in the U.S. at J. Colleen Boutique. Michelle's jewelry has been seen on television shows The Voice, American Idol, and on celebrities Pink, Cher, and many more. We will also feature other choice selections by local artists and designers from around the world, many of whom source their materials and components for their pieces directly from nature.

Unique & Innovative Style

All merchandise at J. Colleen Boutique will provide exceptional fashion in perfect condition. All garments, new or pre-loved, will be upscale and premium quality. Our displays will be either re-purposed, high-quality furniture with a strong design or provided by local furniture designers that use reclaimed materials, woods, and metals.

J. Colleen Boutique is about cultivating the awareness of re-chic and all the talent that is derived from local and international artists. By buying local, sustainable, and vintage products, we will be supporting our community and giving back to the environment. Whether it is jewelry, artwork, or furniture, we recognize the need to support this avenue in the field of retail.

J. Colleen cultivates an environment where women and men feel comfortable, pampered, and stimulated by the wide array of talent and artistry. By implementing a consignment program, we offer men and women the opportunity to not only consciously return their fashionable purchases into the marketplace, but also have a stylish place to make a "new" purchase. We will carry iconic labels including Chanel and Christian Louboutin, with store prices of up to 80% off retail.

Owner Julie Rubio

As a young girl working in her mother's boutique and pounding the pavement of downtown Los Angeles's fashion district looking for exquisite treasures, Julie learned a lot about fashion. After living abroad in Europe and exploring some of the most fashion-forward cities and boutiques in the world, Julie's eyes opened to the many different aesthetics of style. A theatrical and film producer, writer, director, and actor, Julie Rubio launched East Meets West Production with her release of Yoga Can Balance Your Life, and gained nationwide distribution. Her feature films are critically acclaimed and have gained theatrical, domestic, and international distribution. Julie brings to J. Colleen Boutique personable skills of customer service, design, and style sense from 25 years of working as an artist. A true fashionista at heart, her studies of entrepreneurial business, filmmaking, and yoga incorporated with her passion for giving back, has lead her to this next opportunity to open J. Colleen.
